In Indian weather, be it summer or winter, a sunscreen is a must. I have tried several brands of sunscreen and gathered many experiences. Today I will review a very popular and budget friendly sunscreen from the brand Ayur.

What the product claims:

  • Wheatgerm oil provides active skin cell protection, prevents darkening, sunburn and makes complexion fair.
  • Vitamin E moisturises your skin and provides smoothness and suppleness.
  • Suitable for all skin types even the most sensitive.

Quantity: 200 ml
Price: 145 INR
Shelf life: 3 years from the date of manufacture

How to use:
Massage gently on to your face, neck and exposed parts of your body. Use daily for a baby soft skin.

Product designing/ Packaging:
It comes in a white translucent bottle with a orange flip top cap. The packaging is very boring and the bottle is not that travel friendly.

Color, Consistency and Fragrance of the product:
The cream is light white in color and the texture of the cream is not too runny or thick. It takes a few seconds to blend in. It has very light vanilla fragrance in it.

My experience with Ayur Sunscreen Lotion SPF 15:
I have been using Ayur Sunscreen Lotion for a while now. I have a very sensitive skin and my skin gets extremely dry in summers. I also have problems like sunburn and skin tanning. So a sunscreen is a must for me but I am not comfortable with higher amount of SPF like spf 30 or 40, nor tinted sunscreens because it gives me cakey, greasy feeling and I sweat a lot for that (don't know why). I have tried many sunscreen lotions but I was not satisfied with them that much, so I tried Ayur Sunblock/ Sunscreen and this was for the first time that a sunscreen did not make me look like a cake nor gave me any breakouts. It really got into my skin without feeling greasy. As per preventing tan, it worked but not that great, but I am happy that it helped my highly sensitive skin from having sunburns. It also works as a good makeup base and keeps my skin hydrated for 4 to 5 hrs.

What I liked about the Ayur Sunscreen Lotion SPF 15:
  • Blends well
  • Hydrates skin
  • Good for dry and sensitive skin
  • Did not give me breakouts
  • Prevents sunburn
  • Does not make feel oily or greasy
  • Pleasant yet mild fragrance
  • Does not make you look like a CAKE
  • Can be used as a makeup base
  • Ayurvedic product
  • Very cheap
  • Easily available
What I don’t like about Ayur Sunscreen Lotion SPF 15:
  • Boring packaging
  • Does not give fairness
  • Not sure about "prevents darkening"
  • Contains paraben
Will I repurchase:
I think I will, until I find a better one.
