Best Facial Moisturizer for Dry Sensitive Skin/Somi's Glow Mint Moisturiser (Ayurvedic Moisturizer)- Product Review

I have been eagerly searching for a really good moisturiser for the last few months, because the place that I have recently relocated is not complimenting my skin. It has been 10 months that I have moved to Bhubaneswar and within these few months my skin has become really patchy and dry because of the sudden change (earlier I used to stay in Delhi for long five years and my skin was pretty accustomed with the weather over there)of weather. earlier I did not bother about my skin that much, I thought it will be "OK" soon, until unless I noticed wrinkles on my face!!! I was desperate to get my healthy skin back. I tried some branded night creams like Pond's re-brightening but that really did not work for me, and for the wrinkles I tried Loreal revitalift night, which was working a bit on my skin but still I was not fully satisfied.

Then from a TV chat show I came to know about Somi's Glow mint moisturizer. Though I was familiar with this brand because I did use one of their product "Glow Active" when I used to stay in Delhi. But the unavailability of this particular brand in Bhubaneswar made me forgetful about the range. So, I asked my family to courier it to me and I have been using Somi's "Mint Moisturiser" (for dry sensitive skin) for the last two weeks. Now let me share some details about the product.

Product designing/ Packaging:
The product designing is very simple and I must say the packaging could have been far better. Though the bottle is easy to carry but really do not like the flip top cap style. I wish that they have designed a pump bottle, so it would have been easier to use and carry it around.

Color, Consistency and Fragrance of the product:
The cream is light orange in color and the texture of the cream is a bit thick (like condensed milk, I may sound a little creepy but whenever I put the cream on my palm I feel like licking it, it's so yummy looking :P) and also take a few second to blend in. It has very light mint fragrance in it.

My experience with Somi's Glow Mint Moisturizer for Dry and Sensitive skin:
When I first applied the lotion on my skin I felt little heavy (not greasy or oily though), I think it takes few minutes to absorb into the skin (still if one can not feel comfortable then they can use plain water to dilute it better). After few seconds the heaviness was gone and my skin felt really soft and glowing!! The next morning I noticed that my skin was hydrated without feeling oily. After two weeks of usage I saw my dark spots have also reduced, skin looked more even toned, smooth and glowy. Most amazingly it also worked on my wrinkles, I have already used many products for wrinkles but no cream or lotion did so well. I am really amazed by this product, it has also made my skin quality better (I have a very dry sensitive skin). Now my skin feels really soft, supple and dewy all day. Although it is not prescribed to be used in day time still I tried it and it did not do any harm to my skin.  TIP: apply it on wet skin.

What I liked about the Somi's Glow Mint Moisturiser:
  • Non-greasy
  • Blends well
  • Reduces dark spots and break outs
  • Hydrates all day and even tones skin
  • Gives dewy glow to my skin
  • Removes wrinkles and frackles
  • Ayurvedic product (so completly safe on skin)
  • Fragrance is very mild
  • Does not make feel oily or greasy
  • Needs a very little amount
  • Decently priced
  • Does more than what the product claims
What I don’t like about Somi's Glow Mint Moisturiser:
  • Do not like the packaging
  • Texture is bit heavy
  • Not available in many parts of India
  • Contains paraben
Will I repurchase:
YES of course!! It is a great product for dry and sensitive skin. So go for it girls!

Indianblush rating:
  • Quality: 4/5
  • Fragrance: 4/5 (I like mild fragrance)
  • Packaging: 1.5/5
  • Pricing: 3/5
  • Performance: 4/5 (Though the performance of this product is very good but as it contains paraben so I would not call it a STAR Product )
